New Year's Eve Copacabana 2020

New Year's Eve Copacabana 2020

New Year's Eve in Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro, is considered one of the best parties in the world to celebrate the new year, with a spectacular fireworks show, as well as the presentation of several Brazilian artists.

The theme of New Year's Eve in Rio de Janeiro is “love at every sight”, and it will honor the title of World Capital of Architecture in 2020 received by the city. Fireworks at midnight on December 31st are expected to light up the sky for 14 minutes, which is the ideal time to avoid smoke formation, according to the event organizer.

As always, New Year's Eve in Copacabana should gather a huge audience on the beach. In the 2018/2019 edition, the New Year's Eve in Rio de Janeiro attracted nearly three million people, who attended the famous pyrotechnic show. The New Year's Eve schedule in Rio de Janeiro is not yet available.

For now, the organization announced that seven big screens will be installed along the 2,5 miles of Copacabana beach and the famous Avenida Atlântica (Atlantica Avenue). These screens will display the main sights of the Marvelous City, with ten hours of daily programming. On the night of December 31st, all the details of the celebration will be displayed on the big screens, which will be removed from the beach on January 2nd.

More stages in Copacabana beach

The event presents bring four stages along Copacabana beach. The stages will be located at Leme, at Santa Clara Street and Posto 6 (near Copacabana Fort). The main stage will be located in front of the Copacabana Palace where will play artists as Diogo Nogueira, Ferrugem, Allyrio Mello and DJ Marlboro. Concerts start on December 31st at 7 pm and end at 3 a.m on January 1st.

It was also not confirmed by the organization the assembly of other stages around the city. In the last edition of Copacabana New Year's Eve, there were stages and concerts played at Flamengo Beach, Guaratiba, Ilha do Governador, Paquetá, Parque Madureira, Penha housing estate, Piscinão de Ramos and Sepetiba, as well as fireworks shows in Barra da Tijuca.
