Salvador Bus Station is the main bus terminal in Salvador. It was inaugurated in 1974 and it is located in the financial district of the city. From Salvador Bus Station you can go by bus to different cities all over Brazil. There are numerous bus companies, operating buses from Salvador to more than 300 different destinations in the region of Bahia or other states of the country.

The airport is located in a distance of about 28 kilometers from the city center. The Airport Shuttle, which is called Transalvador, goes from the airport to different quarters of the city such as Pelourinho, Barra, Mercado Modelo and Elevador Lacerda.
