Belo Horizonte Bus Station (Rodoviária de Belo Horizonte), named Terminal Rodoviário Governador Israel Pinheiro, is one of the most modern bus stations in Brazil and the main bus terminal of Belo Horizonte.  It was inaugurated in 1971 and it is located in the center of the city. There are more than 40 bus companies and 16 bus platforms. About 17 million passengers pass through the Bus Terminal of Belo Horizonte each year.

Accessibility

Belo Horizonte Bus Station is completely appropriate to attend passengers with disability. You can find the following facilities and services at Belo Horizonte Bus Station:

  • 4 restrooms for people with disability located on the second floor (2x males and 2x females);
  • 2 restrooms on the basement floor (1x male and 1x female);
  • 2 bath rooms for people with disability (1x male and 1x female);
  • 2 access ramps (one at the “Avenida Cruzeiro do Sul” and another one at the loading and unloading area (“Pátio de Carga e Descarga”);
  • 9 elevators: 4 at the “Avenida Cruzeiro do Sul”, 5 at the mezzanine (2 at the arriving area of the northern part, 2 at the arriving area of the southern part and 1 at the arriving area of the northeastern part);
  • 6 scalaters;
  • 2 ATMs (Itaú and Bradesco);
  • 6 public phones adequate for passengers with disability or reduced mobility;
  • 5 wheelchairs (one of them for corpulent people);
  • 8 exclusive parking slots (3 at the "Avenida Cruzeiro do Sul" and 5 at the "Edifício Garagem").

There are no stairs on the second floor: The purpose is to facilitate the access to people with reduced mobility.

Lost-property office

The Lost-property office is located at the information desk on the second floor. It is operating from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. All found items are retained for 60 days. ATMs

At the bus station of Belo Horizonte, you can find ATMs of different banks:

Itaú, Bradesco, Banespa, Banco do Brasil, HSBC, Nossa Caixa, Banco 24, Caixa Econômica and Santander. The ATMs are working 24 hours per day, and some of them operate with the most common international cards.

Parking areas

At Belo Horizonte Bus Station, you can find two different parking areas: At the outdoor parking lot there are 210 different parking slots for cars and 16 parking slots for motorbikes. At the indoor parking lot there are 86 parking slots for cars and 8 for motorbikes. The charging fee depends on the length of time and on the size of the car/motorbike.

Shops

You can find snack bars, restaurants, bookstores, gift shops, a post office, a lan house, a hairdresser and kiosks inside the Bus Station.

Restrooms

The restrooms are located at the arrival and departure area of the bus station. The usage of the restrooms is free of charge for people above 60 years.

Urban Mobility

Urban bus

Next to Belo Horizonte Bus Station there are different urban bus lines, which go to the principal points of the city. Belo Horizonte has an integrated transportation system called MOVE.

Subway

At the exit of Belo Horizonte Bus Station, a boardwalk takes you to Lagoinha Subway Station. You can go to different points of the city by subway. One of the destinations is Pampulha Airport (Aeroporto da Pampulha).

Airport

In Belo Horizonte there is a bus line circulating between Belo Horizonte Bus Station and the two airports of the city: Pampulha Airport (Aeroporto da Pampulha) and Confins Airport (Aeroporto de Confins). The bus line is called Conexão Aeroporto.
